Hi, I’m Emma, a regular home cook, like you.
I help busy people cook from scratch, every day, with simple recipes that have just six ingredients or fewer. From seasonal to easy midweek dinners, there is food to please every brood!
Let me start by saying I love food blogs. As in, looooove. I positively drool over the tempting photographs; I savour each and every ingredient and I devour other people’s home lives, families, celebrations and menus. Then of course, I have a go myself.
So, one day, I decided to start my own. You see, I’m an academic by training and a wife, mum and businesswoman by fate. That means, I write, I create, I teach, I organise and I guide on a daily basis.
But my daily grind just didn’t cut it. It wasn’t BIG enough for me. I wanted to inspire people.
So I decided to pursue my passion, food, and teach others what I know.
And when my maternity leave with my second child came to an end, I didn’t go back to work. Instead, I gained the freedom to research, explore, and yes, to inspire.
This is the result.
But this is not just another food blog. Oh, no. You see, while I admire each and every blogger out there (see ‘looooove’), I didn’t want to write a food diary. I don’t believe that what I have to say will sound, look or taste any better accompanied by a photograph of a sunset. This is also not the story of how I overcame a big dietary restriction, as I (luckily for a foodie) don’t have any. No, what I want The Food Brood to do is help people cook from scratch, every day. That’s it. No catch.
Just good food, made easy.
So all my recipes, tips and instructions are displayed simply, cutting straight to the chase, with no lengthy descriptions, so you can find the answers you want as quickly as possible. There’s a genius ‘reading mode’ function for viewing recipes online so you can remove all the extraneous information, and get on with your cooking. And an easy-print function so you can download and keep the recipes together. You can also save your favourites to your own personal meal plan and login to bookmark and submit recipes too. So it’s really easy to plan and execute tasty meals night after night.
After all, you have to eat.
Maybe you work long hours but don’t want to have to resort to microwave meals
when you eventually get home?
Maybe you have three kids (or four, or five!) and they – and you – are getting really bored of making and eating the same lunchbox combinations every. single. week?
Maybe you are new to cooking and want some easy recipes to widen your repertoire?
Maybe you’re on a budget and the thought of only buying a few choice ingredients really appeals?
Maybe your future mother in law is coming to dinner and you really want to impress?
Maybe you need guidance in organising a busy family?
Maybe every time you try to cook, something goes wrong and you need some help?
Or maybe…you just like delicious food!
